I can’t see you for the light

A beam of light.
A silhouette.
A spray of glass.
Your eyes are wet.
Strands of hair
Like tens of wings
And shroud your face.
Your soul sings.
The floor departs,
Your feet away,
Into the air
Like dawning day.
Arms outspread,
Heart open,
From your mouth
Sound golden.
Keep my key
And let me be
For my own eyes
Have lied to me.
Your skin is glazed
With all the sun
And in my hands
My heart’s undone.
Choking on light,
Hiding from all
That gaze, your eyes,
My downfall.
You ascend,
I fist the air
Beneath your feet
bare.
You fly
And traverse
This realm I don’t know.
And I
Cannot see
You for the light where you go.

I really enjoyed your poem. Each line was a tight dagger and the overall effect was quite visceral. The only thing that didn’t work for me was the word “soul”. Everything else was tangible and loaded with meaning I could relate too.
Look forward to reading more of your work.
